20 Aug 2008 A Few Scenes From Jellystone
 |  Category: Uncategorized

This is our third summer we’ve gone to Jellystone (Three Bears Lodge) in Warrens, Wisconsin. It really is a magical place, probably because I am by no means a ‘camper’ and yet, this is good camping! We stay in villas (just the word villa makes it cooler than a tent), and our villa has two big bedrooms, a huge loft, and fold out couch and chairs. We slept 13 in ours, we always take the loft and I push the four twin beds together. My four kids sleep on two of the beds and the hubby and I get the other two. The villas are all wood. The floors, walls, ceiling…all just beautiful wood. There is a full kitchen and even a washer/dryer combo. Not bad camping, eh?? We go up with my husbands Aunt and her family so all total there were 21 of us.

We make dinner together and eat outdoors every night, but my favorite part is the campfire. As a Master Marshmallow roaster, it’s heaven! How is it that if you cook marshmallows correctly, there is NO LIMIT to the number you can eat? Yet if you turn them into charcoal you are done relatively quickly?

Since this was the third year, I didn’t bother with as many photo’s as I used to. In fact, I only have photo’s of three events. Blake and Barrett at the beach (not really a beach because, hey, it’s western-central Wisconsin) but they’ve shipped in tons of sand and created a really fun one. A few shots of the boys paddle boating, and then the marshmallow fight. We made 10 marshmallow shooters and gave one to each child and each man-heck, the women loved it too. Next year we are moving up to the 1 inch PVC and using the big marshmallows as ammo…the ground was littered with mini marshmallows-I’m still scraping it off of all of the kids shoes. Oh, and we are actually make hundreds of marshmallow shooters to sell at a few craft fairs this Christmas.

But, if you are wanting to see pictures of just where we were, check Here or how could we forget this ONE…Barrett with his Uncle Bob in the golf cart. He lived in the golf cart this year too…I just didn’t take any photo’s!

But here’s this year!
