I have to tell you, we have the coolest backyard. Mind you there are skunks that possibly live under the shed, and there have been a few possums wandering about, but this is what I love most!!
I had never seen a cardinal until I moved to Illinois. Well, pictures. But to look out in my backyard and see this beautiful bird was so fun. Until I saw this…
My son asked what I was taking a picture of and I told him the cardinal. “Don’t miss the bunny” he says. I hadn’t even noticed the cute little furry bunny. Then I got them both!
It wasn’t until I was uploading the photo’s to add to my blog that I saw one of the very first pictures. Mind you, I was originally shooting through the screen above the kitchen sink. The cardinal flew away a bit when I opened the window, so I didn’t want to spook him with the screen too. So it’s a bit blurry–but if you look closely you will not only see the beautiful red male cardinal, but also his mate. A little brown female cardinal with a reddish beak. How fun is that??

Robyn, what a fun backyard! If I didn’t have this stupid anti-travel disease I would love to come visit you. I’ve never been to Illinois, unless you count layovers! I hope you are feeling better, I’m glad Zoloft is your best friend, I’m hoping to find a best friend too! By the way, I loved the McCain vid. I can’t wait to show it to Kerry! Have a great day!
