Jake had his field trip with the stamp club today. I forgot all about the fact that he would need a lunch until really late last night. My kids really look forward to their lunches on their field trips because I tend to let them splurge. They like the hoagies from the deli at the grocery store. They get a bag of chips, a cup of fruit, a juice box and a long john donut for dessert. This was exactly what Jake had wanted-but I didn’t have anything, so he was going to get a PB&J and Cheetos-but then mom had a change of heart! I went in and set his alarm clock a little earlier–after he was up and finished with breakfast and dressed–we headed to the grocery store. We had 20 minutes to find his dream lunch and get him to school!

Well, mission accomplished! He was happy–and to school on time!
