12 Oct 2006 My Girls first field trip!!
 |  Category: Uncategorized  | Leave a Comment

Today My Girl’s preschool went on a field trip to the local fire department! It was so cold and it was snowing! NOT COOL!!! She loved the fire house and even got to sit behind the wheel of the fire engine. She then headed back to school for snack and story time! Now that she’s home–it’s nap time!

She’s normally in the afternoon class, so naps are a rarity. But today both classes met during the morning class time–so today there is definantly a need for a little shut eye! Hopefully B-man will join her!!

07 Oct 2006 Flag Footballers!!

Both of my boys play flag football for the village. They are on the same team–which is nice, considering the age difference. Jake is the Center and Grayson is the Rusher. Today was their first game and they won 27-20! They looked great and both had a lot of fun! Both are still bigger fans of the game of Basketball, but since that league doesn’t start until after Christmas–Flag Football will have to do!

They are both getting so good at catching the football, even considering they never really touched a football until last week! Passing is getting much better also. They are both little sports fans and love playing any kind of game!

06 Oct 2006 Silly Kids!!

We have a chain lock on the outside of the Blake and Barrett’s bedroom door. This is required because Barrett has gotten big enough to get out of his crib instead of taking his nap or going to bed. So we take him in, tuck him in and then on the way out we lock the door. It’s amazing!!! He has learned when he hears the chain–there is no reason to get up since he’s stuck in his room anyway–and he goes to sleep! Well, 90% of the time anyway. After a little while, we will unlock the door to check on them, and if they are asleep we leave it unlocked.

Last night, Barrett did NOT want to go to bed when I put him down. Blakey was asleep within minutes, but Barrett was hanging out. He would get out of his crib and then open and shut his door until it clanged with the chain. In true “Super Nanny” style, I would walk in and put him back in his bed. After the 4th attempt, I just let him wander around his dimly lit room until he was sleepy enough to get himself back in his crib. Before I went to bed I went into their bedroom to check on them. It was so cute to see that he hadn’t ever made it back to his bed, but had snuggled in with his sister. I couldn’t help it, I had to run for the camera to capture the cute moment. They fight most of the day, so it was a fun memory to catch. They are so much sweeter with each other when they are asleep!

05 Oct 2006 Star Of The Day!!

Today in one of her pre-school classes, Blakelynn was named the Star of the Day. She got to take in pictures of herself growing up, and some items from home that are important to her. She took her trophy from this summers Mini Miss Pageant in South Weber. They draw names for their royalty, and she was named 3rd Attendant. She also took her bunny that her brothers made her for her 1st birthday. She’s named her Kayla. She wore her little red mini with her black shirt with white collar and cuffs, white tights and her black boots. I call it her Marsha/Marsha/Marsha outfit. Normally she wears knee socks, but it’s so blasted cold here, that tights were called for. They sent home a questionnaire to help everyone get to know her. It asked about her two dogs, Bear and Brownie, and her favorite color–pink! But the funniest answer I got out of her was her favorite food–she normally picks ribs because that’s what daddy makes, but she chose Chinese Food. She’s quite the connoisseur I guess!! She looks so little walking in to her class, but she loves every minute of it.

04 Oct 2006 School Photo’s!!

Jake and Grayson got their school portraits back today. Jake had gotten a hair cut the day before and remembered that his mommy said “No Smiling”! He did great, and he looks very handsome. Grayson is in the stage where he knows that he’s supposed to smile, but is very “un-natural” and stiff! But you know, he’s my boy, and he’s handsome anyway!! I may take Grayson in to Kiddie Kandids for his Christmas card photo–but if this one grows on me enough–we’ll just use it!!

02 Oct 2006 Barrett’s 2 Year Old Portrait!!

Today we took Barrett to Kiddie Kandids to get his 2 year portraits done. WHAT A JOKE!!! I forgot exactly what 2 year portraits were like. We literally threw Tic Tac’s at Jake just to get a couple of good shots–although many more reveal a poor, frastrated little monkey. So I took Barrett and Blake this afternoon. We had about 3 hours before the boys got out of school so that should have been plenty of time! WRONG! We had to leave because I needed time to get home to pick up the boys. I was just going to go back later in the week, but he was “pressed & dressed” (ala Mary Poppins) and he was wearing his new birthday outfit. So we came all of the way home, picked up the boys, and went all the way back! We were the only ones there the second time around! So we tried for almost an hour to get him to do anything. We finally got 2 photo’s that were decent. I had the birthday coupon for a free 8×10 which was lucky because I wouldn’t have paid for either one!! If you want to see them both, go to www.mykkstudio.com the user name is robynnykaza and the password is cinders !!
It was a nightmare that we get to repeat next month with Blake–however, she’s much easier to photograph! Luckily we have a whole year before Barrett is due for his next one!!

01 Oct 2006 Christians!!

I do not understand Christians. I am one, although most of my life other “christian” religions have decided that my church isn’t one, and with what Christianity and “Christians” have become, I’m glad that in their eyes, I’m not like them!

My church has the name of Jesus Christ in it’s name and yet other churches who don’t–hate us!

My church teaches us about the nature of Christ, loving, kind, gentle, meek, humble, understanding, accepting! Yet so called Christians don’t act like that!

My God teaches us to love our fellow men, as we love ourselves or our family. Yet other good Christians spread hate, and intolerance.

My God teaches that we judge not, lest we be judged. However, you have good Christians that hate people based on their race, or their sexual preference.

Everyone in this day and age has an oppinion on what’s moral, what’s virtuous, what’s godly! Yet the things that they espouse are anything but!

I’ve heard it said that the “Liberals” are trying to take God out of everyday life. To be rid of Jesus once and for all. I am not liberal, in fact, I’m very much a conservative. But must agree that if the above god is the “god” they are trying to be rid of, good riddance!

If you are going to profess to following Jesus–the least you can do is learn about him, and then act as he would! The world wouldn’t need to be rid of anyone then!
