This is Blake’s first day of Preschool. She goes to Franklin Park on Tuesday and Thursday, and she goes to Miss Linda in our Village on Wednesday and Friday. We weren’t going to put her in preschool at 3–we did it for Grayson because he was so shy and needed some social situations to ease him into the Social Butterfly that he is today! However, Blakey is, and always has been far more social than Grayson!! Plus, I finally have two little boys in school all day, and I didn’t want a 2 1/2 hour class in the middle of my day! But we learned very quickly that not only was it good for Blake–it was necessary for mom!! Barrett is still home with me, but I get home from taking Blake to school and put him down for his nap–only to wake him up 2 1/2 hours later to pick her up! So I have 2 1/2 hours everyday of decompression time. Which is really nice! The Looney Bin was calling for a pick up soon!
I was told by the director of the Franklin Park preschool that she is a very enthusiastic student. Yes, I’m sure she is! I picked her up after her first day and was thanked profusely every three steps. “Mom, thanks so much for bringing me to this place”!! Which is good, since she’s paid up until May!
It does get tiring every morning to hear “Is it time for me to go to school yet?” I tried to put her in the morning class, but Franklin’s was full, so for the Elmwood Park preschool I had to go in and move her to the afternoon so that she would have the same schedule!! I think next year–the morning class is a must–just to stop the hours of questioning!!
I still can’t believe she’s old enough to go to preschool. We put Grayson in the 3 year old program, and he seemed a lot older than Blake. However, she’s 2 months older than he would have been. I guess I’m just used to her being my baby, and I’m not ready for her to grow up–which she is doing by leaps and bounds, everyday!
